Southbound. Selected by the Photo Review, 2007.
The coastal plain of Delmarva provides some wonderful, expansive vistas. This photograph was taken on an early October morning in 2004, near Parksley Virginia. Frequent trips between Delaware and Virginia allowed opportunities to see scenes like this under different lighting conditions, but this was a particularly clear morning with rich colors. Ironically, there is a cell phone tower that is normally visible in this scene, but it was hidden by the fog that hangs above the tree-line in the distance. Thanks for the fog! Taken with a 4mp Sony digital, printed as large as 16×20 with minimal loss of sharpness.
