This image was taken in the Fall of 1968, along the Hudson River north of Cold Spring, NY. The steep ridge in the background is Breakneck Ridge, a very popular place for hiking and climbing. The road is NY Rt 9d, which runs along the Hudson River and adjacent to the original NY Central Railroad. The utility poles have long since been removed, and the area is now part of the Hudson Highlands State Park.
